I'm sure this topic has a lot of redundant threads, but I couldn't find the exact answer to my question by searching.

I just finished up at an interview and the school will make a decision next week. I was planning on sending a thank you but if I send it snail mail it will certainly get there after they make a decision, so would it be better to send it via email? Or is a thank you note not even going to factor into a decision?

I was planning on thanking my interviewer and reiterating why I am very interested in the school. Is that what people typically do?

People do both. I did both. But I don't think thank you letters factor in at all. If time is of the issue you can do two things: overnight those handwritten cards so they can get there on time or if you have you're interviewer's email address, send an email. If you're concerned whether an email is too informal, ask the admissions office what they would recommend

the general consensus from the pre allo forum is that thank you notes are great but they wont factor into the decision any more than subconciously. i plan on doing it after my interviews, and i planned on e-mail. the only problem is when there are multiple person interviews, who do you send it to? and if one of them is a student, do you send it to them as well?

Multi-person: You send it to everyone who interviewed you.

How do you even get access to their contact information/email address? Don't you think it would be awkward if you asked for it at the end of your interview and the interviewers proceeded to ask why you would like it?

When I went to my interviews, the admissions office supplied us with our interviewer's e-mail addresses. Or the interviewer, themselves, gave me their card without my prompting
