Hi,

I have a question about writing a LOI to USC. I submitted my secondary in mid-october and haven't heard anything yet.
My numbers (GPA and MCAT) aren't my strong points, but I would LOVE 😍 to go to USC (it's my first choice school!)
SO should I write a letter expressing my desire? Or do you think it would backfire ??
Any advice would be appreciated!! I"m from LA BTW
Oh and if I do decide to write a LOI, to should I address it to the
dean??
Thanks!!🙂

did USC actually give out holds? i havent heard anything from them.

Don't do it. If I was X school and I got a letter from someone, I would think that they sent the letterto every school that they don't have an interview yet. Unless you can say something really specific about USC (And don't PM me asking for specific things. I always get those when I give advice like that) it's not worth it to write the letter.

PS, I think it is the people who answerthe phone who actually determines who gets interviews, butdon't quote me on that.

THanks for the reply guys!!
I don't think USC gives out pre-interview holds. Manchotpi your words have calmed my frayed nerves a bit 🙂

BUt I'm sorry that they lost your LOR. 🙁
THat's such a bummer... Their application site crashes often too!!

From lurking, I've gotten the feeling USC is slow, but I didn't expect THIS slow. I am getting more concerned because I know that right now, many schools are scheduling interviews for March/April.
Yeah, and I don't bind my LOI to be binding cause I REALLY wanna go to this school. I'm going back home for Holidays, and I plan to look around the med school campus. Maybe I can visit them and deliver my intent personally..
😛
