@Goro at the interview
"So over here at West of St. Louis-COM, we only accept students that prove that they are capable of starting and completing our program. That being said, explain why black cats are superior to every other possible pet?"

No! His favorite cats are tabbies!
( I asked him)
I think Goro uses a kissy-face-baby-voice when talking to his kitties ( the same one he likely used when his kidgets were toddlers)

I wouldn't be surprised

"You'd be DOA at my school."
"You're EC"s are cookie cutter at best."
" It works for my students"
" It doesn't work for my students."
"When our AdCom meets, I've heard this comment a number of times, " Nice kid , but I'm worries about that BCPM GPA/MCAT.""

"Ryuji no Ken Wo Kure!"

I would be inclined to agree with you, but I would contend that Goro's learned colleague @gonnif has the market cornered on dad jokes. His punning abilities (punditry?) know no bounds.
Gonnif is granddad.
( Goro is still working, middle aged-ish, has young kids. Gonnif is retired.)

^ For a second I though you were saying that to me I was gonna be like
"But I thought you liked my posts...."

Not sure if someone already mentioned this..

"If you never apply, then your rejection rate will be 100%"

My new favorite:
"Don't be an extra needy special snowflake."

Thank you @Goro, you never fail to make me laugh!

Although mentioned earlier in the thread (and even though Goro does not take credit for the phrase), I am fond of, "this process is a marathon and not a sprint." I use it wayyyy more than I should now when I talk about the process of applying to medical school.

I'm also fond of Goro's list of places for non-clinical volunteering! Reading the list inspired me to volunteer at a soup kitchen, which has been a lot of fun. Had to take a semester off, but excited to get back there in the summer. There's nothing more satisfying than helping to cook a full and hearty meal (with dessert - my speciality) for folks who need it.

if you are not sneezing at it there is no reason to say "bless you".

That's why I know it's weird.
Maybe it's because "nothing to sneeze at" implies that the OP sneezed?
Guys I'm so tired. I'm up way past my bedtime because I procrastinated studying Orgo.

"Don't even think about Caribbean diploma Mills unless you want to be deeply in debt and driving for Uber." LOL'd audibly.

CN"u"
The Manhattan Titans
The Philly Triplets
"Drexel doesn't care if you got into NYMC."
"I cannot recommend Penn State."
" Because their parent body protected a child molester for years."
* cue flame war how the med school and the undergrad school aren't connected.*
Some random sdn user: Goro, I love your posts, but it's kind of crass to equate the undergrad school and med school.
Goro: I don't give a rat's ass what you think!!!!

What is CNU? And why do you hate it so much?
A for profit USMD where students are ineligible for federal loans and repayment plans. There's speculation that the school may have turned down eligibility for fed loans and is benefitting financially from the success of the private loan companies they recommend.
