What's a Beaver doing in Tennessee? Fleeing from the Matt Moore football years?

This Beaver was tired of the stagnant waters he was swimming in.

I don't even want to talk about Matt Moore. The ability of my alma mater to find star high school quarterbacks that continue to play like freshmen all four years of eligibility astounds me. It's like a curse.

Oh dear - I grew up in rural England; I learnt to ride like a kid in Maui would learn to surf - horses are just part of my life. I have done most things on them from carriage driving, to polo, to fox hunting, to breezing race horses over 4 foot jumps, etc. I honestly can not think of something I have not done!

Girls do love a guy who can ride - not sure why...

yposhelley - you are quite brave to want to ride those 2 - they are not made for pony rides that is for sure. One is a high goal polo pony, absolutely fabulous, but a lot of horse and quite scary if you are not used to it. The other one is just a baby, very sweet but being a baby if you do not bring the confidence, it goes down hill very quickly!

Sounds like fun! I used to break in horses when I lived in Hawaii (Big Island, Waipi'o valley-worked on a trail ride). I broke in a couple of mules, too.

Never tried a thoroughbred, though. Horses in Hawaii are kind of on the smallish side as well.

I don't discuss football in the South. (Or as I like to call it, the "Other Religion")

That's your picture in your avatar, right? Hmm.. you look familiar, too.

Since I went against my better judgement and posted my pic, you should too. Even if you didn't, I'd still tell everyone at UTSW who you are. Either way you're gonna be exposed. :meanie: (j/k)

grrrr... I need to go back in my posting history to check out *coughdeletecoughcough* anything embarrassing I might've revealed about myself.

Haha you type in British! And I agree, for the record, that the picture is hot.

I know, and I'm finding the longer I live out here, the more I worship!! I'll still be a Beaver Believer forever....but I'm going to an SEC game next year. It's just a requirement!

Thanks, but you can call me Hercules.

That pumpkin was a physics anomaly...all that mass compacted into that tiny little thing.

With a couple of my polo ponies.

personally i think the horses look real healthy, polo, whatever. I would post a picture of myself, however I've surely angered enough people on here to have a small cult following out for my head... I bet if you searched "PoorMD" on google you could find a "Kill PoorMD.com" or something.. hence, I'll save my pics for the folks who have been fortunate enough to share the physical plane with me. 👍 i'm a handsome lot, a fox hunter, a scoundrel, whatever you want to call it. riiight

Have you ever seen the movie Godfather? one morning he finds his beautiful prize horse in bed with him? with a severed skull.. horses truly are like friends, not animals. you know, they have more feeling, or thought, behind their eyes than your average medical student .. or maybe I was just really stoned and thought the horse and I had made a connection the last time I rode him through the hills with my ex-girlfriend one day in the autumn, leaves falling.. ::sigh::

I have ridden mules and almost bought a zebra to play polo until I realized they were stripped in the head too; lunatics!! Horses are super easy to break if you know what you are doing, you just need structure. I have hit balls off 4 year olds, who had been off the track for a week, while some owners have 22 year old AQH geldings that have drama every minute while out on trail. 🙄 🙄 🙄

personally i think the horses look real healthy

Thank you for your kind words!

There is a reason that Zebras have never been domesticated. They are very nasty to us humans. Plus their social order is much different than horses, no matter how similar they look. That makes them hard to domesticate, because they are less willing to accept dominance in a herd.

Wow, a "Beaver Believer"? I've never heard that one (I was a duck).

Man I love Oregon, our mascots are so weird.

If there is a discussion about football, I will have to chime in. I bleed orange and blue and will be an Auburn Tiger until the day I die....

That's Tiger Walk...you can see the players walking through the middle of the crowd on the way to the stadium.

Go Beavs. Boo ducks. Matt Moore or not, I am going to have to get cable next year just so I can pipe in some FSN. Boo Med, have you seen the ESPN special on the ugliest football uniforms of all time? I believe the ducks had 3 in the top 10.

Haha getunconscious, you TEASE!

For welcome weekend, we'll probably start with little shots right after the neuro exam, and I'll be hosting a couple of newbies.
I think it's awesome that we're both procrastinating on SDN this afternoon.

Seriously. A Beaver and a Duck. SO intimidating. Then again, telling people in Tennesse that you are a Beaver Believer makes them give you weird looks like you are some kind of pervert. Then again, I am a pervert, but not when it comes to football.

HOORAY FOR OTHER BEAVS FANS!

I have a wicked biochem exam tommorow. Why am I on SDN?
