This summer will probably be the last long vacation we will have in a looonnnngg time.

Personally, I'm just planning on doing nothing except laying out in central park all day and read books (real books, not texts 🙄 ) There are so many restaurants/bars/museums in the NYC that I would like to see before I leave the city...if I end up outside NYC for school. Finally, I am planning on becoming a certified bartender, which will make the most popular person in my class 🙂

What are your plans?

Absolutely nothing. And I will enjoy every minute of it! I plan on reading, painting, running, watching movies, and playing Nintendo all summer. 😀

work 3 jobs so that I have some extra spending money when school starts 👍

It has its pluses and minuses, so don't be too jealous. Knowing that all I've done today is go to the gym and eat doesn't exactly made me proud.

If I'm not committed to work/research, I definitely plan on doing a little touring action through Europe or a month-long Spanish intensive course in Spain. I can't think of anything better to do with the time!!!

I will be defending my PhD thesis 😱

Treg

I've got some options...and all are realistic, but not necessarily wise 🙄

1. Go to Italy (I was thinking of either Florence or Venice)

2. Find a part time summer job (although, I'll still have some residual checks coming in from teaching )

3. Don't work, and throw occassional get togethers here at my apartment
(I'm thinking several varieties of cheese, gourmet bread, shrimp cocktail,
and pastries 😍 )

4. Move back home and save money

docjolly---GO TO ITALY. Go to Italy. Go to Italy. I can't say it enough. Venice and Florence are both absolutely amazing and either trip would be worth every single penny...But do be prepared to spend maaaany pennies. 😉 I was there this past summer...I'd love to make some suggestions if you're interested! 😀

italy is amazing...but for pure indulgence, I highly recommend spain or greece. 😉
If you are on the budget, eastern europe (prague, in particular) could be fun.

Are you serious??? Congratulations 😍 😍

Edit: to SweatyBrain and HrsNJ, thank you so much for the recommendation. 😍

VEG OUT!!! Haven't done that since I started college. Every summer, I had something planned. But this time, I am going to do absolutely nothing.

WOW!!! Congrats Prowler! and good luck!

My plans are nowhere near so exciting. I'm probably going to work: in a research or pathology lab if I can swing it. Oh, and maybe go hiking in Peru.

I thought you were a sophmore?

You already have the date set for next summer?

Junior, and there's no date set, just that I wouldn't want to move away and be an MS1 and still try to date over long distance. I still need to actually propose , but she has literally told me what the answer would be.

I think I will exactly mimic sweatybrain's summer plans - except for the bartending thing; I'm too short!

Yay for summer plans!
