I see that schools accept students who've already received their bachelors as transfer students and consider them "postbacc" students. Is this the same as if one were entering a postbacc program in which your undergraduate GPA is considered separately from your postbacc GPA? Or do med schools count this GPA into your undergrad GPA?

Thanks.

post-bacc work, i believe, is by definition undergraduate work completed after the time of graduation. so therefore, it is included in your undergraduate GPA. only if you are a degree-seeking student (for instance, in a master's program) are your GPAs separated. all other work factors into your undergrad GPA.

I did undergrad work post-bacc to get my med school prereqs. AMCAS had me enter my official undergrad as undergrad, and what i did after graduation as pots-bac. Some schools probably evaluated them together, and others apart, but they were both really high (3.99 and 4.00), so I don't think it would have made a difference here.

I did my post-bacc at the same place I did my undergrad. My official transcript lists me as being a "senior" for all my post-bacc classes.

When AMCAS did the break down, all the classes I took post-bacc were listed as "post-bacc." Of course, post-bacc classes count toward your AMCAS cummulative undergrad GPA.
