Postbacc or Masters?

Hello SDN

Unfortunately, I did not get into any dental schools this cycle so my next move is to continue my schooling and take classes to improve my GPA because that is what bringing my application down. I am conflicted between a postbacc and a masters. I originally wanted to do a postbacc but after reading some threads it seemed that doing a masters is better especially because my GPA is THAT bad but definitely could use a little boost and I already have a decent DAT score (AA - 21), but the only problem is that I do not want to the GRE and most postbacc do not require the GRE. What should I do??

Suck it up and take the GRE.

Do the masters. If dental school doesn’t work out, you will have the masters that will put you in a better position to find jobs in other fields.

there are master programs that will take the DAT. Mainly biomedical science programs.

Nothing wrong with doing a post-bacc assuming you take high level science classes and get straight A's and B's. You already have a good DAT score, you just need to show dental school you can handle a rigorous course-load.

For medical school I am trying to take a gap year. However, I am only trying to take a single gap year and do a Post-Bacc program and be able to make it into a medical school to start Fall 2020 cycle. Is this possible for me to do? PLEASE HELP!

Many masters program will take the DAT. Don't let road blocks get in your way of getting in to dental school.
