Okay so what exactly is a post bac program? I graduated last year and have been working on completing my pre-reqs for D-school. When people talk about postbacc grades opposed to undergrad grads are they referring to a formal postbacc program or are the grades I am receiving now (after graduating) considered in a different postbacc GPA?

I'm in a similar situation. My application experience this year leads me to believe that adcoms don't make a formal differentiation between post-bacc and undergrad. If they do, I never caught wind of it in my interviews. They just treated them all the same. Perhaps if I had a poor undergrad GPA and then a stellar post-bacc GPA they might make a distinction between the two.

Postbacs are programs (usually taken at another instituion) when one does not have the necessary prerequisite science background for dental school, or if the science background is not strong enough. People usually list the post-bac GPA to show that they are making significant progress in a rigorous science courseload.

I know many school offer programs, here are some links to various schools' programs:

Johns Hopkins: http://www.jhu.edu/postbac/bulletin.html
Columbia: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/gs/postbacc/
UPenn: http://www.sas.upenn.edu/CGS/postbac/premed/
Tufts: http://studentservices.tufts.edu/postbac/

You may notice that the programs are listed as "premedical," this is because they are often used for medical admissions. Since the prereqs are basically the same, they are perfectly acceptable for predental preparation.
