Does anyone know the exact deadline for poster presentations for mid year in Vegas? The website said june 15, but then i saw something else about august 15 - october 1, so slightly confused. Thanks in advance

ASHP will be accepting Student Poster submissions from August 15 – October 1 (11:59 p.m. PDT).

The other date is probably for professional posters.

Hello,

I'm a P2 student, and I was just wondering if anyone could share some advice on how to go about selecting topics to present in posters prior to your APPE rotations. Are case studies the best option? I know research with a professor is a common topic, but is there another good option for those students who don't have the opportunity to have such an experience?

Also, I heard that ACCP is more discriminating than ASHP when it comes to student posters. Is there any truth to this? If so, does that mean presenting for one organization would potentially be weighted more than presenting at a different conference?

In retrospect after doing a bit of research, I'd start small with a unique case or case series write up if you are doing the majority of the work without guidance.

I presented at ACCP and will so at ASHP on a different project and i don't think there is any difference in terms of how they select poster presentations. If its well done, even the most mundane and useless topic will be accepted. Its all in the presentation.

My presentation has accomplished more in teaching me the process and what not to do than being useful research. But damn if it won't look attractive next to its case
