First of all, congrats on everyone who got in this year.

I was just wondering if some of you who did not have the best stats and still got accepted could post them on here. I am wondering how I compare to some of you that got in this year and if I would have a chance to get in for the 2006 year.

I am interested in your science GPA, total GPA and MCAT scores.

Thank you,

Again, congrats on getting in 👍 👍

Hey there.

I sent out my secondary applications in February... a little behind.

Thus far, I have received interviews for NYCOM, West Virginia, LECOM Erie, and LECOM Bradenton. By the time that I applied, UNECOM's class was filled.

I already interviewed for NYCOM on February 23rd. I was accepted a few days ago.

I cancelled all other interviews. NYCOM was my first choice.

My science GPA was a 4.0.
My non-science GPA was a 3.98.
My MCAT was a 23O... 7, 8, 8, respectively.
I am a New York resident.
I only applied to osteopathic schools... which appears to be highly favored by admission committees.
My extracurrics were average.
I got a letter of recommendation from an osteopathic physician - another extremely important facet of my application.

To where are you applying?
Where are you from?
What are your stats?

Do not get discouraged by low MCAT scores.
I received a 23.
My best friend received a 22.
We both got into NYCOM, our top choice school.

It's a tedious and nerve-wracking process... but you'll be glad you did it in the end.

Any questions, PM me and we'll chat.

Cheers.

My stats are as follows:
Missouri resident
Non-traditional undergrad 3.37
Sciences at end of July should be 3.31 (Poss. 3.4 by end of year)
3 DO letters, 5 Science letters (1 from a dean)
Work full time at a local hospital, school part time
about 100+ hours of shadowing from differant DOs
Have my EMT-B
Volunteer with the American Red Cross for first aid stations and disaster relief
But my practice MCATs are about 18-21 😡

What does anyone suggest??

Also, would microbiology or physiology be good for the MCAT??

You can click on my link below for my stats. Overall my application is strong except my low MCAT score (23Q). But I did get a DO letter, which I think can really help. I got interview offers at 5 schools (attended 3), and have been accepted to COMP so far (will know about TUCOM-NV by the end of today). I also applied late. My application was complete and sent out to my schools on Jan 27, 2005. I started getting secondaries a couple of weeks later, and got my first interview to COMP scheduled for the end of Feb. I really think the big thing that got me those interviews was the DO letter. Not to say the rest of my app was worthless, but considering I applied late and my MCAT score is nothing to write home about, I think the DO letter brought my application to the top of the pile (so to speak). That's just my opinion, of course. 🙂
