Hi, I've been trying to follow Aris study schedule and I just finished the first month of content review. I finished reading AP cliffs and I watched chads videos for GC and OC and completed the associated quizzes. I didn't find his QR very helpful after watching a couple of the first videos.

I am comfortable with the quizzes from coursesaver, but I'm unable to answer the questions in the destroyer...
Additionally, I have a very hard time retaining information from the last few chapters of AP cliffs bio.

I still want to follow Aris study schedule but I'm not sure if I should be learning the content through the practice questions + solutions (LEARNING because I'm getting everything wrong and taking forever to answer them) or if I need to review content again from different sources such as Campbell's biology until I can answer questions from destroyer comfortably. I'm using Bootcamp more for PAT and I wanted to focus more on getting through destroyer so that hopefully Bootcamp OC, GC, bio will be a breeze towards the end of my studies.

QR sucks and I can't answer anything in destroyer so I'm just using it to learn and be exposed to the type of material tested.

The Destroyers are supposed to rip you apart and question your life choices. Just because you can't answer them the first time doesn't mean you didn't do content review that well. Keep going and later in the Ari schedule you'll notice that you'll go through destroyer again. If by then you still have difficulty answering most of them then it might be something to worry about.

This is coming from someone who followed the Ari Schedule, got wrecked by the destroyers and got a 26 AA so don't be discouraged just yet

Ahhhh great score!! Congrats and thanks for your reply! What helped you retain or learn information from biology? I tried flash cards but to be honest, I write too many of them that I don't really have time to go over...

Hmm honestly Bio was my lowest score (20) so other people's advice might be better for that. but what I did was after going through any bio problems, I looked over what I missed and I tried to look for the information in the cliff book or the Feralis Notes. I also wrote down problems I was consistently missing and read the section about it again. I never did flash cards because it took too much time. It's good that you did the AP Cliff but I think reading the Feralis Notes can be really beneficial for you

You've done the majority of the work right there. Writing things down will help with recall.

Biology is breadth over depth. It is word association. The DAT isn't an extremely picky word game meant to throw you off. Chances are, if you recognize a word in a given topic, that's the answer.

Read/work through a multitude of bio sources--feralis, Russelldw, cliffs, destroyer, Bootcamp. You'll be as prepared as one can be for that section. Your time is more effectively spent studying OC, GC, and QR.

I got a 23 on bio, 23 on gc and 25 on oc. My advice is do (and correct) as many Destroyer problems as you can. Then study those and test yourself on those again until you've got it.

What helped me memorize the biology material was repetition in a practical setting - actual questions. The more applicable the knowledge, the easier it is to retain.
