I was wondering-

If anyone else took the Practice Session exam (or 150 question thingy you get for free)- and what they thought of it.....

Is it representative of the difficulty of the actual exam? Is it much easier? What are the score correlations b/w practice and real exam?

I can't say exactly how much easier....but its definitely easier and not really representative of the level of difficulty on the real deal...... I thought it was kind of a joke compared to the NBME's and UWorld that I've done

If you want a more representative practice test....get NBME 2 or 3

My feeling is that it's really easy... my score on that was about 30% higher than my recent Qbank scores.

Sorry to burst your bubble!

Not at all. I got ~235ish on that practice thing. I took form 3 today (the first one I have taken) and definately didn't replicate that.

Yeah, here's to hoping that rumor is true. Ill probably take Form 2 on Monday.
after taking forms 2,3 and 4 I would put the order of difficulty as this:

UWorld>>4>3>2>>>released 150

thats just my opinion and could reflect what I am strongest in....but form 3 (the so-called beast) just didn't seem to have as many weird/convoluted q's as form 4 or UW

I took form 3 two days after I started UWorld when my UWorld scores were less then stellar.

Since then, Ive kinda settled into how questions are asked etc. I had previously been using USMLERx which ended up being a joke.

USMLERx has a practice 10 q's you can take. I think I missed one and was done in about 3 minutes.

gotcha....in the two weeks in b/w taking form 4 and then 3 I did at least 75-100 random UW q's a day.....so I guess I can't really say for sure if form 3 was easier.....it could've been those two weeks of work and getting used to hard questions that got me an 18 point jump from 4->3 (my UW test avgs creeped up around 10% over this period too).....but either way, the people I took both forms w/ all agreed that form 4 had more "wtf" questions

Took form 4 today. Big improvement over form 2 I took a month and a half ago before studying, but still, lots of weird molecular bio questions. Am trying to decide whether to take another one Thursday or Friday before the test on Saturday, just to get a better average.

No!!!

Don't run a marathon just before you run another marathon. At best you boost your confidence a little. At worst you freak out over some weird questions.

I'll admit something: I have barely touched pharm yet, or biochem. They're my crammashintomybrain subjects I plan to spend time on details this week. That, and try to do a bunch more USMLE World. I think with that, and just focusing on reading FA as much as I can until Saturday, I should feel pretty solid.
