For those of you who have taken the real MCAT, did you find that the verbal section on 3R was similiar in difficulty? I know it may be a little early to ask this question considering I haven't even bought the other practice tests, but I just wanted to see if the scores I got on this practice test (particularly the verbal section) are similiar to what I could see on the real one (or the other practice tests for that matter).

The reason why I ask is because I have "Cracking the MCAT" from Princeton Review, and the Kaplan course books. The TPR verbal at the end of the book isn't too bad while the Kaplan stuff is hard as hell.

Please let me know what you think.

3R is much easier than the mcat I took however I scored 4 points lower on 3r than I did on the official test. It is good practice though.

here's the thing about the AAMC practice tests...

Yes, they are formerly administered MCATs. However, why do you think they are now practice exams--its because they're not giving that exam any longer. I did the 'well, if this one is easy, I should do better on the real thing' game for a long time. Towards the end, I realised that you can't really compare your performace on an MCAT to how difficult/easy the real test is going to be. All you can do is be as prepared as you can, take practice tests to get your timing down, learn the strategies, and then do it!

If you keep trying to figure out how you will do on the real thing based on how you performed on any single test, you will waste alot of mental energy and your psyche. The best indication of your progress will be to try hard, do the best you can, and to see your practice scores keep going up.

The confucius/li passage on AAMC 3 is very realistically brain-numbing. If you can do well on that, good.

I actually thought 3R was a good reflection of my scores. I started with that and gained a point every week or two (on AAMC, EK and Kaplan full-lengths) until the real test, where I scored exactly the same as I did on AAMC 6R the previous week.
