Do you have any idea if one can practice dentistry in Switzerland after finishing Dental School in California?

no ,,,,,,,,,,,according to new EEA (european economical area) ,you should have a dental degree from one of this countries: if you have american degree you should pass two theoretical exams and one manequin clinical exam.

sorry,,,,,,,,,,,what I said is true for England , (british dental association ,,,,,,,,,,make a search on google)
 
You cannot work as an independent dentist with an american title. No matter where it comes from, they will not even read your documents or your plan of studies to recognize your title.
Your options would be passing the federal exam as stated before (but there are restrictions for non-Euorpeans to sit it) or finding a dentist who is keen to hire you as an assistant-dentist.
