New RR Pathology comes out tomorrow!!!
anyone gotten a copy yet? how does it compare to the old one?
Can anyone please find out if the book has been delayed to 2007......This Elsevier link seems to suggest so...🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Amazon seems to be saying that the book has not yet been released....😕 😕
Also Barnes&Noble dont seem to have a copy of any of the new RR books at the moment.......
phew...good to know guys
Cant agree more with TX......this is really a relief!🙂 🙂
let's see PS3 launched today and Nintendo Wii launches Sunday.
Now Goljan launched earlier this week and if they run out out of copies be prepared to find books selling at 3x the price on ebay and people selling email address for $100-$500 that are like [email protected] or [email protected]
i looked it up on amazon the other day..says usually ships within 4-6 weeks!!!
Hey Mikey, if I am not mistaken I think this 4 to 6 wks is for the older edition....I suggest that you check once again.
Why did you guys order from Amazon? First the book has to be shipped from Elsevier to Amazon, and then Amazon has to ship to you.
I ordered straight from Elsevier (the publisher). My copy shipped today.
I think it's backordered from them now, though.
just called elsevier and they said that the shipments didnt go out until last thursday/friday. So if you ordered from amazon, ect. then it will prob. be shipped out this week and you will get it sometime next week.
They said they had plenty in stock so I dont know why some say they arnt getting it until january.
Just got the package.
First off, the big is BIG. 739 glossy pages including the index. It looks like it's almost twice as thick as the new edition of BRS Path.
Secondly, there are lots of FULL COLOR pictures all over this book. Not sure how Goljan did this while keeping the price of the book even lower than the first edition of RR.
Gone is the horrible font used in RR edition 1. The new edition uses a clean font that is not cluttered at all. There are also high-yield tidbits in the margins along with lots of space to make your own notes.
There are a lot more charts, figures, info in this book than in the previous edition.
I suggest buying a pillow for this book because you'll want to sleep with it from now until boards.

I ordered mine a couple months ago and the estimated ship date is today. 👍 We'll see if it happens.
Maybe it's already been mentioned, but new RR Biochem just came out as well (co-authored by Goljan).
how are the margins? enough room for notes?
thanks!
Update: Amazon just bumped my order to mid-January 🙁
If you want this bad boy, try Elsevier.
just ordered the patho and biochem will be getting it by friday. by the way, what do you guys think is the best review material for biochem?
Is this the book you guys are talking about?
ISBN: 032304414X
also do u guys know which book has the pix that Dr.Goljan's audios follow? if you do can u post the complete name of teh book or ISBN.
Really appreciated
Ben

Hands down.
The pics in the book are from lots of different sources. There are a lot from Robbins, but there are also a lot of pictures that are better than the ones in Robbins for particular diseases, e.g. the Robbins pic of Giardia lamblia doesn't even show the double nuclei, while the pic Goljan has shows it clearly. It's nice because he has a caption underneath each picture, and sometimes has arrows in the pictures so you really know what you're looking at. The color is awesome!I'm not sure there is a single book that his pics come from, but Robbins new pathology atlus is nice and I highly reccomend it.
Hmm, I wonder if I should buy the new RR just for the hell of it, I've got the old one and our class notes, domer621 is there a section of micro in the book?
Honestly, you can't even compare the old RR with the 2nd edition. I bought the new BRS path when it came out, and you can't even compare that with the new RR.Damn. I already have the old RR path. It has been good to me, but I was thinking about getting BRS path for the boards (it gets better reviews in first aid). What do you guys think?

See if your school bookstore has it in. You'll see what I'm talking about!
