So I'm just curious as to who else might have had a similar experience with the Crest Whitening Pre-Brush rinse. So, okay, its a Pre-Brush rinse, but I figure why not give it a go after I brush? So, I'm driving to work, and my mouth starts to feel all gummy and like I have something stuck in my teeth.

Needless to say, I bust out the floss in the glove compartment while driving and get ready to floss (safe, yes?) but it turns out its like skin or some kind of slimy membranous nastiness. I'm guessing the peroxide and such in the rinse caused this, but like I said I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this as well.

yeah me too...i think its the peroxide stuff. i only do that stuff at night so i dont roll into class with that slime. also, i think that stuff is working, maybe its mental that my teeth look whiter.

hydrogen peroxide oxidizes a lot of things because it's highly reactive... and when it oxidizes, it usually forms a lot of bubbles.

i've used a whitening rinse, and the sliminess that i get is a collection of the tiny bubbles (from the hydrogen peroxide oxidation) forming on the teeth. i guess the hydrogen peroxide is reacting with stains on the teeth. it's not killing your enamel or your gums... at least i don't think it is.

i use the generic (publix brand for those of you from the SE) whitening rinse. i can certainly see a difference if used regularly.

my routine: floss --> whitening rinse --> brush --> listerine (only morning)

jb!🙂

you floss before you brush? Why do I find that so odd...

Hmm...if I used whitening rinse, I think I would first use floss, brush, whitening rinse, and then brush again. Weird? But either way, I feel the need to floss before I brush, so I can brush out all the rest of the filthy stuff stuck between the teeth after flossing. 😀

I use the Whitening rinse twice a day. I brush, floss (maybe/maybe not), rinse, then brush again. Brushing twice helps with the slime in my opinion. Also, from using the whitening strips, it is recommended to use the strips then immediately brush for optimal results.

i have no idea what is this "slime" u guys are talking about. It never happens to me hahah.. i must be special.

But crest whitening strips are so great. I only used them for three days and it was like magic!!

I also use pre-rinse, brush, floss, and occasionally use crest whitening rinse afterwards, or use listerine.

BTW what is your favorite brand of floss? I only recently discovered the one with toothpaste on it. Talk about how awesome do you look when you are in a bar bathroom, flossing your teeth!

Hah! That happens to me too. I thought it was just me and I was actually thinking about posting the very same question. The first day it happened to me I was so disgusted. I flossed, rinsed, and brushed. A couple of hours later I was at work and kept feeling something gooey inside my mouth. When I got a chance to look in the mirror I pulled out this nasty white slime. FUN!!!
