Pre-Calculus P/NP.. How bad does it look?

Hey guys,

I just bombed a pre-calculus test because I had orgo the day before (studied way too much for that and neglected math), and am contemplating on switching it to p/np if I can't get an A nemore. How bad does this look to dental schools? Would you guys recommend that I just drop instead? After all, this class isn't even a pre-requisite, it's just a pre-entry class for Calculus A and B. Thanks guys.

Isn't pre-calculus pre-req for calculus? I thought two semesters of calc were required.

No calc required to most d schools. (check Adea book)

Taking a P looks better than not taking any pre calc at all in my mind. You can explain that you just wanted to brush up on your math for the DAT.

For what its worth,
I have been accepted to eight schools and the highest math I have ever taken is trig. (Math 106)

So I don't really need Math in college to be a dentist?

I heard that if you want to major in Biology you have to take 2 maths Calculus and something else.

Im a Junior in HS right now and I'm planning to take AP Calculus AB next year.

You also don't need to major in biology if you want to go to d school.
Most schools don't even require a degree.

oops, my bad calc is required for degrees. however some physics classes require calc as their pre-req. And physics are required for dental school.

Most universities offer a physics course that is trig based. Biology is not the only major for pre-dents. There are millions of majors, majors don't matter.

And in most cases, neither does calc.

Why don't you just ask the school you want to apply to, it might save you some heartbreak later if you learned you had to take it and didn't because of misinformation.

I don't know about everyone else's situation, but I sure didn't need calc based. 😀

I took the trig physics and made A's. It's the same class, just the fact that you don't use calc to find the answers. You don't have to have the calc based physics.
