Pre-Matching still possible?

Anyone out there know if programs can still prematch independent applicants even though the programs were required to submit their final count of available positions for the match recently? Just curious.

i think the only way this could happen is if they had offered the spot to someone else who now backs out of it and thus a spot not counted for in the match is available... besides that, those spots are spoken for in the match

Hi,
I just pre-matched into a family medicine program yesterday. I think your best bet would be with programs that did not fill their spots in this week's osteopathic match. The program that I just matched with only got 2 of the 4 D.O. matches that they wanted and have until early next week to let NRMP know how many people they will be matching in the M.D. match.
