how is this pre-med?
it's not, i concede
but isn't the point of all
these pre-med haikus
to gen'rally whine
and complain about waitlists
and nuisances such?
....
on a new tangent
how many count their fingers
when drafting haikus?

GET OUT OF DEBT! Sigh
Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays. I'm stuck at work and can't even excitedly check my email every 2 minutes for med school news because I really doubt anything will be happening with that today. Sigh.![]()

My first post-Christmas Haiku:
And the day grinds on
slowly tormenting my mind
I long for my home

My dad had me build a shed.

Rural is not exciting:
At least I get out.

I miss that city.
There are more people
On SDN than you see.
They're invisible. 🙂

Referring to Gainsville as a city just nearly gave me heart palpitations
Sorry...truly am...I'm so lame with my urban ways. Although, I very much respect the ice skating - was that indoor or outdoor?
You guys are good poets. Thanks Haemulon for starting this thread. Here's how I feel right now...
These med school apps are
A tough lesson in patience
Wait, then wait some more
Interview invites
send your mood soaring high, then
a rejection...CRASH!
Probably one third

They are still here, but
They are not showing themselves.
I am one of them. 😉
Heart palpitations?
You're stuck in an urban dream.
You should get outdoors.
For the rest of you: haikus are supposed to use one complete thought per line. Don't write a 17 syllable sentence and then chop it up to make the structure correct. Otherwise,
Yoda, you'll sound like.
Please remember this one rule:
One whole thought per line.
It's also not trueThis is not really true. Haikus are often structured with a break after the second line, or after the third. (So the first two lines or second and third lines convey one thought.) It is appropriate, although not required, to break a sentance across 2 lines.
It's also not true
That haikus can never rhyme.
Though few of them do. 😎
