Pre-Med Indie Music Thread?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
but then again many of the popular indie bands nowadays have grown out of their "indie" status. indie to me also has an "underground" definition. bands like BSS, DCfC, Postal Service, Snow Patrol, Arctic Monkeys, etc gone mainstream enough to be labeled just alt. rock, alt. country, baroque pop, britpop etc even though they may still be associated with an independent label.

independant music lives!!! this thread should, too.

evidence: the dirty projectors, beach house, grizzly bear, the muggabears, tv on the radio.

being in ny for the summer is fantastic, if only for all of the free concerts. i will definitely miss the city if i don't get into a school here. would anyone else apply in texas just for SXSW?

sigh. i remember when my chemical romance used to be considered indie. Well, not "indie" but certainly obscure and unheard of. and the postal service? and bright eyes?

i think my point is, the general public is developing a better taste in music that is making it increasingly difficult for me to indulge in music snobbery.
