This one I credit to one of my graduate school professors:

A mosquito was heard to complain,
That a chemist had poisoned his brain.
The cause of his sorrow
was para-Dichloro
Diphenyl Trichloroethane!*

But now all of my time I am wasting
Didn’t open the book
For the last test I took
So I hope I am still graduating

I tried to take some pictures of the snow from yesterday but I was so cold that my hands were shaking and they came out all blurry. 🙁

I'll get used to it in a few weeks, I know, but the adjustment period is traumatic.
 
I live in the Mile High City
No love from CU, such a pity.
For what are they asking
that my app may be masking?
On my ass I just wait feeling sh-tty.

But at least in the tundra up north
I ran into more generous sorts.
So if CU decides
to push me aside
I will join my Iowa med school cohorts!
 
Chronic fatigue is the main symptom
Striving to gain knowledge and wisdom
Can't keep open your lids
The diagnosis is
Too much blood in your caffeine system

When I started this process I had
No idea it would be so sad
To wait month after month
Sans a clue or a hunch
As to what made my App quite so bad.

I have written a letter, you see.
It addresses my admittance plea.
Thus far I've had no luck;
On their hold list I'm stuck.
U of Maryland, interview me!
 
Of the admissions game I am tiring
And of expensive flights it's requiring
If I do not hear from Stanford soon
I'll withdraw my apps with a jaunty tune
and see if McDonalds is hiring!
 
Ms. Q got my back in pedi so I'm adding a few limericks for her thread. First one refers to the rather high incidence of premeds who feel a bit faint doing rounds in the NICU, the second an ode to the premeds and applicants who call and write constantly - until the day they start med school that is, at which time....forgotten is the letter writer!

The premeds all like to shadow me
Neat toys and sick babies they can see
But skip breakfast some do
Stand through rounds brave and true
They feel light-headed and fall like a tree


Dear Oldbear please write me a letter
Say "as a doctor none will be better"
But then they start classes
Learn of cells and masses
Oldbear is replaced by Netter
 
You'll sooner see MCATs being aced by some fools,
Or anarchists deciding to follow the rules.
Featherless peacocks have less trouble finding a mate,
And there is certainly more hope for a deathrow inmate
Than there is for me to get into one of these schools.
 
I have an idea! Let's play a game.
you must put all your assets in a miniscule frame.
If the magical judges decide that you're worthy,
and the exhorbitant prices do not deter thee,
you can rightfully put 'MD' at the end of your name.
 
This road is undoubtedly long
But I came out of it happy and strong
And on March twenty-one
I will finally be done

im calling the cops it is a crime
loud sirens and red lights
you might just give them mites
which leads to paying a hefty fine 😴 😴

MY STATUS:

im going to bed, the apps can wait
not to long though, they can not be late
ill sleep the night away
dreaming of what to say
for the future, big interview date 😴

depart soon and without feeling badly

You can't fault me for dreaming, sadly!
