Predict your April MCAT!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Im guessing a 6

(long story on why but its my legit guess)

EDit* heres hoping my never wrong answer is wrong though

Hey, I have no clue how it really went. My score is definitely up in the air right now.

PS: 7-11 (honestly, no idea... I had an average of about 9 on my practice ones)
VR: 9-13, only because the scoring is so steep
BS: 8-10 (avg. of 9-10 on practice tests)
Writing: Something between O and R

This most likely puts me somewhere between a 28 and a 31.

I'll probably be taking them again in August...

My sister had a dream about my MCAT score. In her dream, I got a 36. It would be nice if her dream becomes a reality.

Ask her what I got.

My roommate dreamt I got a 32.5... 🙄 silly Classics majors...

Yeah... me too... which is a little ridiculous, considering that I can't actually remember anything that happened from 8AM to 530PM on April 22... so I just make stuff up and freak myself out... really, we just need to forget about the whole thing... if you can actually do that, you'd be my hero

An 11 per section, may-hap??? Hopefully your diety of choice will take some creative license on that one... 😉

I've had two dreams: one I got a 21 😱 and the other I got a 32 🙂 I'm hoping in my next dream I'll get even higher!!

it would be nice if your real score was 32 or higher....you could dream all you want but in the end its the real score the adcom will be looking at. :luck: :luck: :luck:

Maybe he/she meant a 32S....with the 5 kinda looking like an S...maybe? 😛

yeah-pretty unfortunate 🙁 but the dreams are keeping me calm while the AAMC does a detailed analysis of my scantron

When I dream that I got a 40, I'll know its not even a possibility

Has anyone else dreamed about getting your scores?

i had one my most vivid and lucid dreams of all time

and i ended up with a 33 😍

i ended up breaking down crying in my dream from happiness cuz of all the studying crap that i went thru from my hairy friend called the MCAT

but yeah if i can even sniff a 33 i will kiss the first 21 people i see

that can be seen as a promise or threat

and seeing as i have now probably jinxed myself into like breaking my foot stepping out of my car on test day, 😱 im gonna go study some more

good luck all
First time I took it (in August) I dreamed that I got anywhere between a 30-34. Ended up getting a 31. Not happy with that so I took again in April. Sunday night I dreamed that I got a 58!!!! Not exactly possible. Just praying that isn't percentile! As far as predictions go...I would be happy with a 35, but I really want a 40 (yeah who doesn't?). Highest practice was a 38, so it's not out of the question completely! We shall see come June 17th!

Why??? Is he one of those sexist persons who doesn't want girls in medical school kind of thing??? Or did he mean 11/section??? Or is there something else to it?? I'm genuinely curious.

He was a farmer, then a butcher....so he has no clue about the app process. (I am the first one in my family to go to any type of college, so they are all pretty clueless about the process).

I thought it was cute that he took the time to even think about it though, since I had been under the impression that everyone in the family really didnt want me to consider medicine (....the numerous conversations about ANY career being cheaper to go into and requiring less years of schooling than medicine kinda tipped me off on the family being against my choice)
At least now I know he does support my decision a lil bit 😍

I took the test out of sheer hubris (long story, but I was not very well prepared). The PS and BS kicked my behind and I ran out of time on both of the writing samples. Moral of the story, be prepared.

I am expecting a 27P (BS=8, VR=12, PS=7 and WS=P).

Worst case scenario 21O (BS=6, VR=10, PS=5 and WS=O).

Best case scenario 33Q (BS=10, VR=14, PS=9 and WS=Q).

I am older and just felt like I was running out of time, so I took it earlier than I should have. I usually underestimate and I'm hoping that is the case here. I really think that I need a 28 to have a decent chance of getting in and it's in god's hands now.

Fingers crossed for the duration of the countdown.

Mighty confident on that verbal, are we?

Like everyone else I walked out of the testing room feeling like crud...and I am scared to post scores. But I do not like to live in fear 👍

PS: 12-15 (honestly I felt pretty good, I doubt I got a 15 (never scored that in practice) but I averaged a 12-14 so this seems about right)
V: ???? (who knows? I felt awful and I might have done really badly...I predict (with my fingers crossed) 11-14, leaving that upper bound just in case I guessed my way to a good score....I averaged 12-13 on practice)
BS: 12-15 (again felt pretty good...I felt I knew the orgo, figured most stuff out though I missed the blatant memorization questions, again I doubt the 15 but I did score that on AAMC 3R)

So score range: 35-44 (yeah right)
more likely: 36-42
I will say a 39, since that is what I scored on a bunch of Kaplan tests whether I felt great or awful.

I'm worried. Very worried. I managed a 39 on AAMC #9 (PS 13, VR 11, BS 15) the Saturday before the exam, but I got the flu the following Monday! I was incredibly ill on exam day. It was a very, very painful experience for me, but I was able to get a doctor's note "just in case." I honestly do not know what my scores will turn out like.

I completed form FM. My predictions are going to be very conservative.

PS: 10+ (I found this section very easy. I was elated after completing this section.)

VR: ? (I am not so sure about this section. My mind melted sometime after I completed the second passage, so everything was a bit "hazy." If I manage a 10 or better, I will be thrilled. I was scoring 10s and 11s on my practice exams.)

BS: 10+ (My knowledge of biochemistry and all of the papers I analyzed in my upper-level microbiology courses helped me incredibly.)

Predicted range: 28 - 38

If I did not manage a 35, I will prepare for the August examination.

Bump...

Sorry, Schaden Freud, I did'nt see your earlier post.

The verbal is the only one I'm confident of and that confidence may be misplaced, we'll see.

Soon, I hope.

Are you serious?? So if you score a 33 or 34 (top 90th-95th percentile) you are willing to go through all the physical and emotional rollercoaster again? Why would you do this to yourself??

LoL if i get a 30 I'll be jumping and crying. I averaged 29-34 in my practice tests. I wish I never have to take that test again. I seriously think our life expectancy is diminished by those months of sheer pressure and stress.

Exactly what I'm thinking! I averaged around 31-32 with the score range of 28-34 in my practice tests. A balanced 30 and I will be ecstatic! I'm considering not retaking if I get above 28 (no section <8).I totally agree with you about the pressure and stress. I gave up everything, a lucrative and upward career in the pharmaceutical industry and cleaned out my bank account just to jump these hoops and fulfill this dream. I just want to get my 30 and my acceptance and get the rest of my life started already!

Lets not forget Mr. T aka Teerawit and Zephyr possibly too

But in response to the person who posted about retaking with a 33 or 34. There is a poster on here who did just that. He took it last year and got a 34 and decided to take it again for slightly higher. I still think he could have gotten in a school like HMS with a 33 considering there are posters on here who were freaking out last year with a 33 about getting in good schools and got in just fine *cough wetlightning cough* just messing with you wet. But you are a good example of the point I'm trying to get across. Same thing for USF friends of mine. Some of them had 33 and got in just fine with their excellent GPA and ECs into places like UPenn.

Ghana!!!!! Oh were you not around when he posted from Africa in our Random peepz thread???????

Yeah, he's doing a medical mission trip there. I'm jealous. I want to do a medical mission trip somewhere cool and different then America. 😛

mr. t is in ghana.

i am thinking oxeye & mr. t could go...all...the...way (or at least break 40). and ana, you are prob. in the 35+ range at least 🙂

i will be so happy if the first digit i see is a 3...hopefully there is a second digit as well, though 😛

I have the following predictions for myself:
Low prediction = 9 PS, 10 BS, 10 VR P essay (29)
High prediction = 10 PS, 12 BS, 13 VR S essay (35)

Predicted Average = 32 (10,10,11 R). Would be very content with this cause I have decent (though not stellar) undergrad gpa of 3.54 plus all A's in grad school (MS degree).

Ok, I'll go ahead and predict my score 🙂
Worst Case: PS-10,VR-8,BS-9
Best Case: PS-12,VR-10,BS-11
So, the final score should be between 27-33, and I would be thrilled with anything above 30!
Here's my prediction from April... Hoping for a 30+!

PS- 11
VR- 5 !! Terrible, haven't gotten anything that bad on my practice tests, but was really confused by some of the passages i.e. agriculture; and I didn't get to the last passage. The political science passages were also very bad for me.

BS-9 , usually get 10+, but I started feeling super hungry towards the end.

=25-- my practice test before the MCAT was 34. Talk about a 9 point drop! However, I am NEVER wrong about predicting my scores, which sucks. Either way, it will be below a 27 😱 Last MCAT, I predicted each score on the section to a tee-- it's kind of freaky. I wish I hadn't retaken, because this score is def. lower.

Verbal: 10-11
Bio: 11-14
Phys: 11-14

got a 36 on fl9 (10,13,13), got 31-33 on kaplans. But I freq. ran out of time on these, randomly guessed 7-11 qs each, no such problems on the 22nd, always had 5-10 mins left. 👍 👍

BIO - 12 (Practice BIOs 10-12)
Verbal - 10 (Practice 9-11)
PHYS - 9 (Practice 6-10 🙁 )

31...not to bad...we will see on Monday or Tuesday.....AHHHH!!! 😱 :scared:

yea, i guess i'll make an abstract prediction:

PS: 11-12
I had only 10s and 11s on my practice tests, though more 11s than 10s, and on the last two i was 1 point from a 12 both times. i thought the PS went pretty well, but to give myself some room, i'm saying 11-12. could even be a 13 if the curve is generous. we'll see.

VR: 9-11
i was happy to finish the VR section on time this time around (last august, i had to guess for the 5-6 questions on the last passage, and i came out with an 8). i felt pretty good about mst of it. again, this depends on test passages/questions, and on the curve. i don't think it could have been any worse than a 9, though.

BS: 9-11
had a hard time w/a bad headache through the BS...but i think i was still able to focus enough on the questions to do ok. some were just totally random anatomy ?s.

overall: 29-34

would be happy with 30+

i'm sticking with this, especially since i predicted it only a few days after the test.

Seriously, I don't think I broke 40. And I'm not just saying that. I really don't think it happened on that particular test. 🙁

I'm in almost the same boat, I'm trying to live down a poor undergrad GPA. I don't know whether I would actually re-take with a 34... probably not, I'd just adjust my list of schools.

I just can't bring myself to jinx myself with a prediction, but here's my emotional range:

0<= Bad News <=33
34<= Acceptable <=37
38<= Happy <=39
40<= Fall over in shock
