That chart is pretty close to how I feel. Move all the numbers down 1.Pemberley said:I'm in almost the same boat, I'm trying to live down a poor undergrad GPA. I don't know whether I would actually re-take with a 34... probably not, I'd just adjust my list of schools.
I just can't bring myself to jinx myself with a prediction, but here's my emotional range:
0<= Bad News <=33
34<= Acceptable <=37
38<= Happy <=39
40<= Fall over in shock

Actually, the liquor store should be up there for all the options.

ultima said:I am thinking a minimum 13 on PS, I know I got one question wrong for sure sure so probably not 15 but possibly 14.
Verbal probably 11, 12 if I got lucky.
Biology I think I rocked so I hope 14, but def at least 13.
Score range: 37-40.
danjo said:Ballsy...I like it! Though the fact that you missed one questions on PS for sure does not eliminate the possibility of a 15...remember, it is a scaled score!

30-34 => Goodbye Md/PhD!
35-45 => I'm going to Disneyland!!! 😀
gujuDoc said:33 or 34 will probably get you in a good school if the rest of your other stuff is good too. Remember 34 is 90th percentile and 33 is about 88th percentile
DrVanNostran said:It seems that the consensus is that a 30 is the magic number to get into A med school. However, it seems more and more that a 31 is the new lucky number.

govikings10 said:how do you fall asleep on one of the most important tests in your life? When I took the ACT there were several people, including my girlfriend at the time, who fell asleep. I never could understand how they could do that.

Does it seem likely I will break thirty (or at least score in the high twenties) on the real thing, given the hightened stress of test day? I am not trying to be obnoxious here, I am just real anxious about seeing my real score!
LifetimeDoc said:mmm, I had the same average and a high of 34. Did you steadily improve in your scores throughout your studying? I went from an AAMC 3R=27 to 4R=29 to 5R=34. My MCAT review instructor said that in his experience, people get +-1 on the real MCAT compared to their last AAMC 5R exam that he always has his students take a few weeks before the exam.
bubabugster said:How sure is the instructor on that? I'm really curious to know!! I got a 34 on the 5R the day before the exam and am really good at predicting my MCAT scores. I have never been wrong. I'm pretty sure I got a 25 or 26 on April 2006 (Why? The VR!!!)! Can your instructor approximate how much percent of students score +/- 1 from their 5R score versus the people that take a nose dive? I guess it doesn't really help me anyways, but is still nice to know!

And then I woke up...
