Most Universities requirements are limited by 3 letters of evaluation from the country where the applicant obtained his dental degree. There are:

- letter from dean;
- letter from faculty member;
- applicant choice.

I have 4 letters from my native country:
- letter from dean;
- letter from the professor who works in my specialty;
- letter from the professor in maxilla-facial surgery (which is not my specialty), who is an emeritus and very famous, and who has a long list with significant requisites, etc;

- very eloquent and emotional letter from the chief-dentist of the clinic where I used to work for about 12 years.

Which 3 of 4 should I choose?

What the US universities pay attention for: context of the letter of evaluation or the requisites of the evaluator?
Thank you!!!

I think each school has its preferences, you may check each school's requirements.. Like UPENN they require a letter from the dean, faculty member of your dental school and another letter of your choice. When I submitted my CAAPID letters I didn't submit one from a faculty member, so UPENN sent me a mail requiring this letter and they said I can send it directly to them.. My point is that submit the letters that you consider stronger in content and if they require another one, you already have it in your hands and you can send it to them.. Hop that would help

I submitted CAAPID letters from US dentists in amount of 3. What I want to do it is to send a few more translated letters from my native country directly to schools.
Should these letters be officially translated, or I can do it myself?

I think they should be officially translated; but you may contact the schools and ask them..

Many schools won't accept "extra" LOR's, it's what you submitted to CAAPID and that's it, check individually first...

I asked my professors to write my LOR's written in English to skip the whole translation hassle.

please someone help me..i want to know that LOR from dean and other professors would b of similar format or the dean one would be like the medical evaluation letter(dean's letter).
please reply soon...thanks🙂

LOR can be of any pattern, depends on that prof how he writes, can be on any college letterhead where he is working or can be on his private clinic's letterpad, or even he can write on regular white sheet mentioning his address and contact...............nothing so specific

Hey guys
Need your suggestion regarding LORs....I graduated in 2010 and got LORs from 2 faculty members at that time ....should I use LORs that are 2 year old or get new ones ....pls reply

Use something with a date within six months prior to the day you're sending your application.

This all depends on the number of schools you'd like to apply to. I would suggest 10 transcripts, and maybe 7 copies of the LOR. This should be good enough.
