Preferred vs Permanent Address on Apps

I had a question regarding the AMCAS preferred vs permanent address form. I will be moving back into a dorm 3 hours away from my home in the middle of August, which is when I anticipate getting most of my secondaries. But a few will probably come earlier, maybe in late July or early August. I'm not quite sure how to set up the addresses. Will medical schools assume to use the preferred/school address by then?

hey wannabe. i think it is prudent to not assume that med admisssions will know where to send it. if you are moving, be sure and update your address or send them a note to let them know where you will be. because i plan on moving in the next few months, i went ahead and got a post office box and used it as my preferred address. either way, they will only send information to your preferred/mailing address and not your permanent, unless for some reason your mail gets returned.
