Hi everyone,

My specialty requires a PGY-1 year and I will be participating in the MD match as a 4th year DO student.

I keep hearing that prelims and TRIs are getting more and more competitive as the years go by and I wanted to know if my USMLE/COMLEX scores would put me at a disadvantage for matching into one of theses types of programs. I have my eyes set on some TRIs near home but I know that these are difficult to get.
Step 1: 230/564
Step 2: 237/599

What is the best strategy for applying to these programs? Do I only stick with allopathic prelims/TRI or am I able to also apply to osteopathic ones? I hope this makes sense!

For what prelim-requiring specialty are you applying? I think a lot of the neuro and maybe psych programs have reserved prelim spots within the home medicine program. Not sure about rads.. All the other prelim-requiring specialties I can think of aren't really obtainable with 230/237 (derm, ophtho, rad-onc).
