premed course sequence

Hi

For filling out the premed requirements, i can either take two semesters of intro bio that has no lectures (auto-tutorial) or take four classses (physiology, cell biology, and two other biology courses)

Would taking additional classes be worthwhile in the long run in that I will be better prepared for the mcat?

Take biology I and II with the labs.
Same with General chemistry organic chemistry, physics, and 2 semesters of math above college algebra.

Why do you think I should just take the Bio I and II instead of the four physiology/cell bio courses? Just for the sake of time?

Well the upper level courses go more deeply into a topic than you need so they're nice to know but intro-bio should be sufficient for the mcat. Also, if you take too many challenging courses while doing other things like volunteering or whatever it is you enjoy, then you could end up with not enough time to do everything which would hurt your gpa. Personally, I would go with physiology, and cell bio courses but only if you think you can handle them all.

They're not exactly upper level but I wasn't really sure how deep the MCAT covers the bio section. If intro bio is enough for the MCAT, I'll definitely go for the 2 course one..especially since I'm considering a double major
