I don't look stunning in the first one, and I can't take a non-blurry one handed mirror shot to save my life, but Maya is amazing and must be shared. My niece looks and acts much like a smaller me, and I enjoy it. Behold our familial awesomeness in trying on shades at Bloomie's yesterday.

Yesterday she also told me it's a great idea for me to be a doctor, because when she gets sick, she can come see me. Come on, adcomms, follow the logic train.





OH, AND ONE MORE THING:

My thread has reached 41 pages. Whoever suggested this should be on my activities list for AMCAS was right.

my husband is chinese yet both our kids have blond hair, really fair skin and their eyes are brown but they're not dark/black brown like his. they're a light brown. and they inherited the speak english gene, not the speak chinese one.

Ok, so I showed Maya the pictures I posted of her, and she asked me "but what about Ittai? You're his auntie too..."

And I thought, geez, I am a poopy auntie. So here is her brother, with the cool hat we just bought him.



And in answer to the question, "why should this premed forum care about your niece and nephew?" I state "because I am part of this community, and you should all accept me as a whole individual, and not just a future career woman. Although our lives currently revolve about a fulcrum of secondaries and interview suits, we must never forget that we are human beings, and that there is more to life than medicine. We must acknowledge and celebrate the people who make our lives worth living." In other words, I don't expect you to care about my niece and nephew, but they're damned cute. And thanks, Kir, for noticing that the true stars of those first pictures were my new shoes.

hmmm possibly, but I just finished senior year and was not planning on med school until junior year so I had to take more than a year off between ochem 1 and 2

i was on the off track because I am a bioe major, so i had falzone/peterson for the ochems

did you have mazlack/funk?

also, have you taken soc 5 with clemente? It's the best class at Penn State

ahhh i see. yeah i had maslak/funk but i did the off track for physics. nope, haven't taken soc 5 and i don't think i'm going to have room in my schedule to take it before i graduate 🙁

anyway, maybe we'll see each other at the bars and not even know it. for some reason, i tend to frequent the lions den!

haha I go to the lions den a lot because I live above McLanahan's.....maybe i'll be really creepy and just come up to you at arts fest if you are there :laugh:

Haha, no kidding, I also had Funk for Chem 38 and 39. I thought they were great classes. I'm guessing you probably took it my semester, Fall 2004 and Spring 2005?

actually a year later! fall 05/spring 06. i loved funk. i think he's hilarious! but im also a big dork, so sometimes i laugh when no one else does...

Yeah Funk was my favorite teacher at PSU, I definitely learned the most from his class. Looks like your also in Schreyers. Are you in Simmons or Atherton (Simmons for me, just cause we rock 😀 )

i was in simmons for two years and it's definitely the better dorm 😛 now i just live at home since im a local student...amazing how much money it can save!

Haha, yeah it is a great place, and I cannot complain about the chocolate aroma that infuses the area, lol. Yeah…maybe we should start a PSU thread or something, I’m at the lab, so no pictures to post….unless you want EM’s of E.coli. 😀
