So far I have been fortunate to have 2 interviews and 1 coming up in March, but I believe they are all for a wait-list spot. Right now I'm preparing for the next cycle and look to improve my application, so any advice is helpful.

Overall GPA: 3.56
BCP: 3.35
SCI: 3.31
Yeah I know my GPA could be higher, but the last 60 credit hours I've maintained a 4.0 GPA.

DAT
20 AA
19 TS
23 OC
22 GC
17 BIO
17 PAT
17 RC
19 QR

I'd like to improve my DAT, but right now I've been studying for BIO for awhile and still am maintaining that 17. The only way it looks if I retake is for my scores to go down.

I applied sort of late, everything was done in Sept. I submitted my file though late June without a committee letter complete or DAT done. This time everything will be done ready for June 4th.

What do you think?
Thank You

I think all of the 17's on your DAT are hurting you. I'd retake and then apply earlier like in June. Your GPA's really aren't that bad but I think your low scores could hurt. Good luck!

IMO the dat is fine, yes the Bio and RC are a bit weak but I believe it should meet most if not all cutoffs at schools. I would rather take some post bacc classes to boost the lower sGPA and BCP, a 3.35 isnt bad but its not too hot either. If you can take science classes for another year and get the sGPA and BCP to 3.5 to 3.6 levels then you'll be golden.

My DAT scores were slightly similar to yours, some better and some worse and I got a few acceptances this year and a ton of interviews. a 20AA is competitive dont let these 22+ kids tell you otherwise. An average DAT score is a 19 for a matriculated student.

Okay, I will have to look through some posts on the differences between the post bacc programs but I have graduated already and have around 130 credit hours done. I am taking Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 right now, and will complete 2 in the summer. I figure after they are done I will have boosted my sGPA to a 3.35 and BCP to 3.4. Thanks for your posts, I appreciate it!

No problem just try to find a cheap way to do it. DAT may or may not help, but a higher GPA will def help you next cycle. SDN folks tend to fixate on DAT but the GPA is more important.

GPA looks great. You said you maintained 4.0 for last 60 credit hours. That is super great because some schools look your recent GPA trend. You will be fine if you keep doing hard. However, DAT is kinda weak even though GC and OC look great. 17 is the minimum score of some schools. So, to be competitive, you should get at least 19 on all sections. Especially, do better on RC, Bio, and PAT. You will be fine.

😕 GPA is more important than the DAT. He has a 20AA thats competitive enough, no need for a DAT retake.
