Hi everyone, I'm planning to apply in the 07-08 season to start in Fall 08. I have my B.S. in Biology from UCSD, but unfortunately I didn't know I wanted to be a pharmacist when I was an undergrad. As a result, I have several prereqs to take before I can apply. I've been out of school for almost two years now and I really want to make it in next year.
I'm just frustrated with all the different prereqs for each school! I wish it were more consistent, like it is with med school. It seems like USC and UCSF need all kinds of opposite courses, and stuff that I need for those two schools I don't even need for UW or anywhere else! Aughhhh!
Do you think it's ever possible to waive prereqs? I guess I need to call the individual schools and ask their policies, but I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience doing so and if it ever worked out.
USC requires an Ochem lab that I'm not going to be able to get into because it's only for chem majors and I've already graduated. So I was thinking of trying to take it at a CC, but it means I have to sign up for the whole ochem class, lecture and lab, so it will be redundant. I guess I'll do it if it's the only way, but it's just so annoying! I only have until next summer to complete all the courses...although I guess based on what school I end up at I'll be able to drop some of them!
I know that prereqs are important and all that good stuff, but I just needed to vent. Thanks guys!
Anyone else frustrated/overwhelmed? 😱
