I was wondering, for those who applied this cycle or who will be applying, how many schools did you see that actually had a humanities or english requirement. By the time I graduate I'll probably have around ~240 units and pretty much all of it will be science or engineering, except maybe 28 humanities and 12 english units (quarter system by the way). So I was wondering if this is something that's common and I should prepare for, or whether it's rare and something schools tend to be lenient about.

Also, if there are other schools like USC which do require humanities units, does research done for credit in the humanities/social sciences go towards satisfying those requirements or do they have to be lecture based classes.

Finally, do most schools require that you be done with your prereqs before you apply or before the year you plan to matriculate? If the former is true then I might be REALLY screwed humanities wise :/

Brohski. The Pre reqs are
1 Year gen chem
1 year gen bio ( sometimes alt for a higher level bio)
1 year orgo
1 year physics
1 year english
And sometimes math.

If you have that you are set, stop worrying and rock out with your Cxck out!

I guess I'm just worried because I've seen both JHU and USC with kind of "extensive" humanities requirements, so who knows if other schools do the same thing.
