Hi!

I plan to apply to dental school this cycle. I graduated this year but I don't have the English prerequisite. I plan to take a full year English course as a part-time student during the coming school year. However English will be the only course that I will be taking. I am wondering if dental schools will look negatively at the fact that I am only taking 1 course next year.

Thanks for answering my question!

A lot of people have gap in school year and it doesn't hurt them, so I don't see why this would.

Isn't the English prerequisite the academic writing 1&2 we all take?

The amount of English credits required varies, but most seem to require 6 credits/2 semesters worth of writing (there are exceptions of course, e.g. Harvard only requires 3 credits, Tennessee requires 8, LSU requires 9). I somehow managed to graduate only taking one course in the English department, a mistake I hope many of you avoid.

I think most schools are okay if AP is used for English credit correct me if I'm wrong.
