Prestigous honors societies

There are so many out there, and it seems like I always get crap in the mail about all these honors societies...

Which ones are actually worth joining? I have heard that Phi Kappa Phi is a good one, so I joined that one, but what about others? What about Phi Beta Kappa, someone told me it's the most "prestigious in the US."

Stating the obvious here, but the more rigorous the candidacy requirements, the more impressive membership will appear. Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi are some of the more difficult to be elected to since they require students to be in atleast the top 10 % of their class. Others such as Golden Key don't have such rigorous standards, so they're not likely deemed as impressive. But as you mentioned, there are so many out there, some of which are fairly obscure but still have relatively high standards.
