Hi guys,
Here's my take on these TPR diagnostics seeing as I just finished #9, my last, today.
The physical sections were fairly reasonable I thought, forcing you to recall knowledge as well as apply those analytical and logic skills. One caveat: the physical section on #8 was definitely the hardest out of the bunch. Prior to the start of that diagnostic, I had read this thread and thus already had a sense of how difficult it was. In hindsight, that was a mistake because before even entering the test, I was under the impression that if I didn't score as well, it wouldn't matter. That's not the mentality you want to have. As I was actually doing the physical section, the difficulty was affirmed and it was so overwhelming, I think I just mentally "quit"; didn't even finish reading some passages as I couldn't follow and didn't approach the questions as I normally did. As mterp45 stated, #8 might actually be a blessing in disguise equipping you with the mental toughness so you don't make the same mistake again.
From my own experience, of what I've heard from my peers as well as the members of this board, the verbal sections are overly difficult. I have yet to do an AAMC but it seems like every verbal section will have a "killer" passage which you're supposed to skip in accord with Princeton's philosophy of purely guessing on one passage. I certainly wouldn't get too discouraged if you falter once in a while.
The biological sections were more on the easy side and I felt much of it was straight regurgitation of facts. I don't recall any genetics passages that gave me immense trouble, which seemed to have been the trend on recent administrations. There also seemed to be an excess of organic chemistry, which may be a good or bad.
Here are my scores below for all 9 tests. Up and including #4, I hadn't started reviewing general chemistry yet and up and including #6, I hadn't started organic chemistry.
#1: P5, V5, B9
#2: P7, V6, B8
#3: P8, V10, B11
#4: P8, V9, B12
#5: P14, V9, B13
#6: P10, V9, B11
#7: P13, V9, B13
#8: P7, V5, B10 - You can see just how bad I did.
#9: P15, V7, B12 - But I learned and bounced back (at least on physical).
If you have any questions for me, feel free to shoot me a PM. I hope this post helps some of you in your future tests. Good luck!
