Hi,

I am prior enlisted, accepted to osteopathic med school and considering HPSP.

When going through military match how does prior service play into the "points?" Is it even significant?
On the GME website they say that prior service is a consideration, but are they referring to Flight Surgeons/GMO?

It is significant. If you were prior service in a medical field it is worth 2 points. As a reference, the maximum points for medical school performance is 5 points.

You should browse other threads about the military match. Even with this scoring system there is a lack of transparency.
