I interviewed at Pritzker in late October, and I'm anxiuosly awaiting a response from the school. (They said it would be about 4 weeks.)

I'm wondering if there are other SDN'ers out there in a similar situation. Has anyone heard from Priztker recently? Did you receive a call, a letter, or an e-mail? How long did it take for you to get a response?

Hi there...I interviewed at Pritzker on October 22 and just heard from them on Monday (exactly 5 weeks). I got a phone call from a 4th year student telling me that I got in...pretty pumped about it.

Hope that helps!

zancudo, thanks for the response, and congratulations your Pritzker acceptance!

When did your call come, at night? Congrats.

Around 6:30EST...I assume that it was just after the meeting ended.

i got the pritzker call around 6 eastern time, but I heard of someone who got it at 9am the day after the committee met, so it could be either, best of luck to all those waiting to hear.

I heard from Pritzker today. Unfortunately, it was by mail. I got the waitlist and I guess I am happy that I even got that instead of a rejection. Pritzker is a great place and like coop has mentioned, I also just got a good feeling there, like everything just fit into place. Alright, time for another beer. :(

im starting to get really ansy too...i interviewed at the end of oct. and still havent heard...its been just over 4 weeks

does anyone know what percentage of interviewees they accept? like my day there were only like 10 people that interviewed...do they accept a certain number out of that?

i have a dreadful feeling that im going to get all waitlists everywhere... :( <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Yeah, I interviewed on Oct. 23rd and finally got too anxious to wait so I called and it earned me a spot on the waitlist. Does anyone know how the waitlist at Pritzker works. Is it ranked, does it ever move, or is it just random pickings from the waitlist?

merlin, Are you suggesting that you were placed on the waitlist BECAUSE you called? I'm wondering if you think that calling or e-mailing to check one's status has an effect on the school's decision.

Merlin,
In the letter I got they say the waitlist is about 100 people and about 30 people usually get pulled off the list. I don't know if it is ranked but I think they have no list movement until March they said. I remember them saying something about how beginning in March you could get pulled off the list. You'll get the letter soon whether you want it or not.

Ranger Bob, I emailed Sylvia and she never wrote me back but that same night I got my letter so I don't think it is possible for them base their decision on whether or not you call unless you are annoying and call like days or even a week after you interview.

I interviewed 10/18.

sundevil, When did you interview at Pritzker? I interviewed there almost 5 weeks ago, and I'm beginning to fear that the reason I haven't recevied a call is that they are sending me a letter.

Ranger Bob, I was just kidding. All I meant is that I found out their decision before it could come in the mail because I am too impatient. But hey, I got the better end of the skinny letter, and for that I'm one happy guy. Good luck to everyone waiting for Pritzker. Hope to see you there (if the waitlist treats me well).

ranger bob- when did you interview? it's been exactly 5 weeks for me as well...they meet on mondays and call right after the meeting, so we might hear something in the next 3-4 hours...

or it could be tomorrow morning. i think if i don't hear something by the end of the day tues, i'm going to get impatient and call...

anyone know what your chances of getting in once you interview are? anyone...?

good luck for everyone waiting to hear!!

saffron, I interviewed at Pritzker on 10/29. I'll post it on this thread if I get a call tonight.

I notice from your other posts that you've interviewed at some of the Texas schools. Did you interview at UT-Southwestern? I just got back from an interview there last weekend.

saffron: I called Pritzker today and got some good news. Pritzker has not made a decision on my app yet. Since you interviewed a couple of days after me, they might not have made a decision on yours either.

The committee meets twice a week. One week, it's Monday/Thursday. The next week, it's Tuesday/Friday. So, I guess we can wait another week or so before assuming the worst.

I also interviewed at Pritzker at the end of October and haven't heard but when I called yesterday they said there was no decision yet. Hopefully we're all going to be reviewed this week and accepted.

ranger bob- thanks for the info- i also called yesterday and they told me the same thing, that no decision has been made yet. i didnt know the part about the committee meeting twice a week though, from this site, i thought they only met on mondays. i've resigned myself to waiting till maybe even friday of next week before we know anything for certain...hopefully we will all know sooner...

oh, i'm interviewing at southwestern on dec. 15- its my last texas interview...

hey...just got the good news...4th year student called me today at 5:30 PM (CST) - right after the committee meeting...

they congratulate you and ask if you have any questions..anyway, this is my first so im pretty excited...now if i can figure out a way to pay for it...

anyway, time to go out and celebrate...good luck to everyone waiting to hear!!

Congratulations, saffron!

Unfortunately for me, I didn't get the call. I'm going to hold out hope for a few more days, but things aren't looking good. On the bright side, I'm supposed to hear from my state school tomorrow. Hopefully that will bring some good news.

Anyway, congratulations on your acceptance. Pritzker's a great school.

Anyone interview November 6th hear yet?! I was the 6th and wondering if anyone had news... --Trek

hey trek...i was there on the 6th, too. no word yet here either. **fingers crossed**

dukegirlie ;)

ranger bob- thanks for the kind words. don't worry, remember, no news is good news. you could always hear next week...or sometimes they call the day after...

anyway, good luck on your state school- once you get in somewhere, it'll be a big relief! :)

GOOD LUCK!!

ps- for others waiting to hear- it takes almost exactly 5 weeks...
