Anyone have any experience with private advisers?

I am non-trad and have found no help from my previous university; they are completely geared towards their 4-yr premed students and won't give me the time of day.

I've gone it alone this far, but kind of feeling lost and curious about meeting with a private adviser. Interested in what options are out there and what you all have experienced. Thanks!

All I have heard is that they are sort of expensive and the info is pretty much what you can get on SDN with some diligent searching (unless it's some super special set of conditions).

SDN all the way I found my advisers ill-informed and useless at times. I will not be matriculating in a week without SDN. Whatever you are going through someone here has gone through it. What question you have have probably bee asked and answered many times over.
