What do you folks think about going through the relevant sections of IM in Step 2 review books while trying to zone in on HY stuff for the path and pharm shelves? ******ed?

Yes, useless. You're not being tested on clinical medicine. Stick with path and pharm review books; there are plenty of good ones.
 
shelf exams for path and pharm? I didn't even know they existed 😕

Yep our school used those for pre-clinical stuff. I remember there was even an anatomy shelf by the nbme.

On the other end of the spectrum this year the nbme started making shelf exams to 'beta test' with certain rotations for fourth year students (EM is one example).

yup, i have my neuro and EM shelf exams coming up... it should be an interesting experience
