Hello , im just have troubles with the histology lab exam , we have two exams a year in which we should examine , give definition and features about the slide under the microscope all that in 1 mint ....... i have studied the slide in the laptop but when comming to real microscope its little differs >>>>> iz there any idea about the right way . thanx

If you can do all that for the slide displayed on the computer screen, then you will be able to do the same for the slide under the microscope. Just make sure you know how to work a microscope, in case you will to focus it fast.

Sincerely, there are a vast quantity of complaints around the toughness of histology exams in which approximately 20 percent of students in our medical school have been flunked. My overall score in this subject is also not too high; however, it is possible for me to tell you about my friend’s study procedure that assisted him in getting 90% in the challenging test four months ago.
Below are his easy steps to attain the high mark:
-Viewing the slides on the laptop rigorously and struggle to memorize the foremost characteristics of each tissue.
-Some tissues are very similar, so you should try to distinguish each of them from the others through their images on your laptop
-When you study in the laboratory, it will be better to bring a good camera and take some photographs of tissues in the microscope. Are there some distinctions between the photographs and images of the same kind on the laptop? Make comparison
-Doing the real test is also nerve-wracking. Attempts to soothe yourself are very important and help you to avoid hasty decisions.
Follow the strategy and enjoy positive changes in your marks

thanx alot about all these instruction its seem awesome i'll try to follow it ... thanx again

Can you go in and use a microscope with the actual slides? Our teacher used the student slide sets so if you practiced with the scope you should be pretty good to go. There are a couple of key things to remember about each tissue/organ that will give it away. Like the others said, find these things and remember them.

Find and use Histotime. Its a program you have to download. Everyone at my medical school has it. It has a bunch of images, practice questions and exams. Try to search the web for it.

2 steps to doing well on histo labs:

1. Figure out what makes up a tissue and how to recognize it on a slide.
2. Figure out what differentiates it from tissues that look similar to it (characteristic structures / proportions of specific cell types) and how to recognize that on a slide.

With practice and viewing as many different sections as possible *hint*, you'll quickly learn to recognize the sections on exams. They're chosen because they're easily identifiable.

im going to toss in my 2 cents here, look at shotgun histology on youtube. i found those a few days before an exam after struggling with histo all semester, got one of the highest scores in my cohort for it after watching them all. it may seem like they are too short, but trust me when i say he covers everything needed as a first year ms (which im assuming you are)

If you are being tested on a microscope then you need to study on a microscope. Digital images are helpful in part, but it would be difficult to only study digital and then try to use the microscope cold in an exam situation.
