Hi all! I'm new to the board and have a very important question!!! Currently as a post-baccalaureate student, I am extremely busy. Since junior high, I've enjoyed photography, and today shoot for nightclub promoters at some Manhattan night clubs. I also tend to shoot at bars too if managers hire me.

I wanted to know if being a nightlife photographer can have any negative impact on medical school admissions. I'm not a party animal by any means and don't really enjoy clubbing, but I find that the photography really fits well into my schedule since it's late night shoots! I'm concerned since if you type my name into Google, you will see links to my galleries via promoter websites.

There are people that take crazy photos of course, drinking alcohol, and there are scantily dressed dancers. These are my concerns. Any help would be mucho appreciated!!!

I wouldn't be too worried about it. Adcoms have to sift through thousands and thousands of applications, and I don't think they have time to Google everyone's name just for grins. Even if they did, I'm assuming that this work would be something to mention in your experiences section on your AMCAS, so they would at least be expecting to see that and would have it in the proper context.

What is your name? This sounds like really awesome, fun & unique experience to talk about during interviews. Not all medical people are uptight religious people who never went to a nightclub.

Good stuff👍

I agree, as long as the pictures are not of you getting drunk and wearing suggestive clothes.

i think we need to see these pictures to determine
