Has anyone been involved in any program development with their clinic/employer? I am working on a program and just looking for any helpful websites, etc for putting together a program. I have an education background, so I'm setting it up much like a "unit plan" that a teacher would create for say, a unit on the 13 American colonies.

Some key things I'm considering as I put together my outline/start to research are:
- The Who (patient population), the What (the program), the Where (hopefully the clinic I work at), the Why (An informative, brief background on the research supporting my program's reasoning)

- Background information on the subject (as a quick reference guide; proving that I know what I'm talking about, basically)

- Program Basics (Admission criteria, Daily Plan [the components of the program], Discharge, Follow-Up)

- Assessment Measures (admission assessment [or the objective measures/tests used at evaluation], appropriate outcomes measures for the patient population, functional tasks/tests)

- Goals of the Program (both therapist driven and potential patient driven goals and their importance/relevance to the patient population)

- Initial Evaluation Sheet/Daily Note set up (we use a combination of paper and electronic currently...)
- Works Cited

Is this a sufficient place to start? I am trying to think of "everything" that would be good to have information on and hopefully cover all angles as best as possible... As far as resources, I'm going head deep into research, and I may supplement some background type info stuff from my text books (but this is very minute).

You omitted the most important things your employer will care about: what will it cost, and how much money will it make.

So true, jesspt! The program will cost us nothing (well nothing more than what it currently costs the clinic; we already run programs that are extremely similar; this is just one for a specialized patient population.) And hopefully, by having a specialized program we will get more referrals [as we are in talks with some neighboring hospitals and other homecare companies who are working together to reduce hospital readmission rates] and thus more money!] so that's why I omitted the financial aspect. 🙂
