I have to say it's pretty sad that some program websites still refer to material dated back to the early match days. I really urge all of you to look at your host program's website, and if it is out of date, please remind the program coordinator in a friendly manner to update the site so that applicants can have the latest and greatest info. That's a win-win situation for both applicant AND program.
Not only is it a big turnoff seeing references to outdated information, but also having links that go nowhere. Also, while some might disagree, I like to see names and brief bio info on current residents/fellows to get a feel for trends in the accepted applicants, i.e., # of MD/PhDs, FMGs, regional differences, etc., as well as info regarding past alumni and their current positions/fellowships. Websites for Hopkins, Emory, and UTSW, just to name a few, seem fairly updated.
