My educated opinion is that pre-meds should utilize a wide array of information including match lists, board pass rates, average COMLEX/USMLE if available, match rate, attrition rate, their sense of "fit", and word of mouth from professional colleagues to form an educated decision. My contention is that match list is important, and if you compare, I don't know, PCOM vs. one of the newbies, I think you would see a significant difference in the quality and quantity of competitive matches.
