I've heard that most med students use Anki quite a bit, so I figured I'd share this program that's made the process of making flashcards with Anki significantly more efficient. I just started using Anki to help prep for the MCAT and I've already made a couple hundred cards in a couple days, so I started looking for shortcuts to help make cards more quickly, and stumbled upon this gem:

AutoHotkey lets you use a single key for any given command in Anki, like using the F1 key instead of CTRL+alt+shift+C to add a new cloze of the same number, for example. It makes using Anki way more efficient if you use cloze, superscripts, subscripts, Greek letters, arrows, etc. frequently.

For mac users, it sounds like BetterTouchTool (http://www.boastr.net/) is pretty similar, but I don't personally have experience with it.

Hope this is helpful; enjoy your studies!
