hey..i know there is a thread explaining the science gpa calculation that aacomas does..but i couldn't exactly figure out if psychology was included in the science gpa or not..some pre-md's have told me that psych doesnt count in aamcas, but im not sure if it counts for aacomas.. i believe it comes under "other science" , or something of the sort...and if its up to the college to decide..does anyone know if CCOM counts it in the BCPM gpa?

Well BCPM isn't science GPA. I was a psych major and put 2 of my Psych classes as sciences. I forgot the names of the courses but they were related to physiology of psychology. I also had to take statistics in psychology and added that as a math course.

Psychology is considered a behavioral science and is not in the science GPA. However a case can be made to include in science GPA if you are taking a course that goes beyond behavior such as neuropsychology especially when the course is under a department other than psychology. An example being the biology department offering neuropsychology (instead of psychology dept).

The second post of the FAQ has more details on which courses are science and nonscience.
