Ok i misspressed enter and didnt have time to write an appropriate title/explanation so could any mod please fix the title to "psychology degree basic questions".

I got a few basic questions about psychology degrees and internet is so big/confusing so i would prefer if someone who knows about these things answers the questions, It would be really helpful.

1)I ve seen that there are different types of psychology students can choose to follow, do they need to make that decision early? Like before getting a bachelor in psychology or bachelor is general knowledge around psychology, human behavior, brain etc and masters moves to more specialized topics?

2)If yes, which are the specialized topics in psychology for bachelors of science degree and if no which are the different types of degree you can get a masters in?

2)Whats the average cost for a bachelors/masters degree in psychology? Generally an average, not anything very specific just so i can get an idea

4)What jobs could someone with a masters on psychology degree do? I know they can do research or just help different kinds of people with different issues but i would like to know all the options plus what are the types of "therapists" out there. Also is it easy to find a job with a masters because it seems that you need a phd to find an easy job.

5)Which schools would you suggest to someone that has an interesting in getting a bachelor of science in psychology? There are so many option i cant really choose each one so i would like to get some suggestion for a number of schools i can start checking out with those parameters
1)Accepts international students from europe
2)Is in uk(preferably), or in usa although i would prefer in uk first
3)Is accredited so i will be able to find a job in many areas of the world.

I'll give you as good as answers as I can, but I sure you'll find other people on here more useful as I'm still an undergraduate.

Generally, people make a decision on what field of psychology they want to go into while they're getting their bachelors degree. Usually undergrad psychology programs will have a range of classes that will allow a student to learn more about different fields. Undergrad = basics, Masters = specific fields.

I don't know of any bachelors programs that allow one to major in a specialized area of psychology, but there might be some out there. Just a bachelors in psychology will be fine for going to grad school for any psych field. There are several masters degree options. Check out for some good info on what you can do with a masters: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=502820

The cost of schools varies an incredible amount. State universities will generally be cheaper than major research universities, flagship universities, and private universities. I go to a state university, and I pay ~$3,200 a semester in tuition, while my girlfriend goes to a major research university and pays more than double that. This may not always be the case, but this has been my experience. I don't know much about the cost of masters programs.

Go to the link in my answer for question 2 for masters degree options. Psychology thrives on research because it is a science, so the better paying jobs are usually (but not always) research-oriented jobs (including teaching at the college level), which usually require a Ph.D.

Most colleges and universities have a psychology program, as it is one of the most popular majors. It doesn't matter too much which one you choose unless it has a poor reputation, which doing a quick search could tell you. I'd be willing to bet that most, if not all school would accept international students. I don't know about universities in the UK, but there are a ton in the US, so I couldn't recommend you just one. You are right in wanting to attend an accredited university. You can find whether or not a university is accredited on their website in most cases.
