I have repeated Anatomy and Stats already. But the boost is not quite what I expected, as many schools take the average of the two grades. I was wondering if anybody has heard of any programs that take the higher grade? A list would be wonderful. It would greatly improve my overall pre-req GPA and any help would be appreciated

I also had to find schools that take the highest grade. I made a list of maybe 20 schools I was interested in, checked their FAQs to see if they mentioned it, and emailed them if I couldn't find the answer. Most schools do take the higher grade. Making a list of all the schools that accept the higher grade would be daunting.

So in your experience most schools took the higher grade? Thanks for the info and reply. As this cycle is quickly upon us

Thanks!! That helped a bunch. I think LLU might be on the list now. Any others?

I believe novasoutheastern and western university of the health sciences

You are the best! Do you happen to know any schools that weigh the most recent 60 semester units? I know Eastern Washington does. My cGPA is 3.45ish and pGPA is 3.2-3.5, but my last 60 units are >3.8.

I honestly don't 🙁 sorry!

Nova southeastern is a bit tricky. Make sure you also meet the math and science specific gpa which does count ALL math and science courses.

Thanks. I'm a Kinesiology major, so what counts exactly as a science/math? Obviously physics, biomechanics, Ex. Phys. and chem. What about computer science & musculoskeletal injuries? I know I should be asking their admissions office, but this website is full of equal or better knowledge

My biomechanics did not count nor did my kinesiology for the math/science specific gpa. My exercise physiology also didn't count. I don't think my computer science counted (but don't quote me on that). So for me it was chemistry, bio, physics, math (lots of math in my case), A&P....it sucked because my math/science gpa ended up very low as it basically discounted a lot of A's for me.

The best place to find this information is within the PTCAS application. There is information there near the place where you input your coursework. I did it last year, but I remember some pop up window I could bring up each time I had a question on labeling my courses. Some of it depends on how your college classifies the courses. If some of the above courses are from the Bio department, then they are usually fine. (I found PTCAS more helpful than the school in this case)

Overall, I was frustrated with Nova. I got into much more competitive programs but couldn't get into Nova because of this one calculation. I retook every single PT pre req and got straight As but still didn't meet that math/science GPA (I was a math major and pre med for a few years as an undergrad and got pretty much straight Cs and B-'s across the board....so I had a ton of math/science courses to "overcome").

University of St. Augustine takes the higher grade of the repeated course, though they look at the last 45 credits.

Thank you both for your information. I suppose them looking at my most recent courses would be the best highlight of my app. Do you know of any other schools that observe the most recent credits taken?

Do you guys know if taking an online stats class is okay? i retook stats online because I couldn't get into an in-class one. I'm just worried schools won't accept that.

I don't see why it would be a problem. You had to learn the material and pass the exams just like the face-to-face section.

You really need to ask the individual schools, not us. It's likely that it's ok, but not guaranteed.

Yeah definitely not guaranteed that they will take it. I currently can not get into my final class left, Microbiology, which must be in person as it is a Science course and requires a lab. Each school differs. I know I have looked a couple that state online classes for pre-req's are not accepted. Good luck with everything
