I just noticed that PTCAS calculates both your cumulative undergraduate GPA excluding post-bachelors undergraduate classes and including them. My question is, when a school states that they need a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA, which are they referring to? The GPA including all of your undergraduate classes ever taken, or just the ones that counted towards your first degree?

Any idea?

Usually, unless specified, schools mean cumulative GPA or Overall GPA and will also specifically state what they require for a pre-req GPA. There is a row in PTCAS that says somthing like Cumulative GPA or overall GPA under where it calculates each undergrad year, post-bac, and grad GPAs.

Ah, ok. That's a relief.

I'm interested in NYU and on their website the verbiage for that requirement made me unsure. "A baccalaureate degree with a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a scale of 4.00." Made it almost sound like it had to be limited to the classes that counted towards your bachelors degree. Or maybe I'm just overthinking everything and need to calm down before I have a panic attack. I'm going with the latter.

well in that case, NYU has specified an undergrad GPA of a 3.0 it seems. But if you are still unsure, you should call NYU and find out
