Hello,

So PTE opened up a while ago. I chose PTE for my top choice school. Should I have dropped my other acceptance offers?

When is the deadline to drop acceptance offers?

What should we do when we choose CTE?

1) by 4/15 guidelines want you to hold no more than 3 total acceptances
2) you need to drop all other acceptances by 4/30. After that schools can see if you hold more than 1 acceptance and can rescind your acceptance without notice
3) CTE is school specific, usually 21 or 30 days before orientation, which is also school specific. However some schools have much earlier CTE dates. It is up to the applicant to know these dates and adhere to them. Failure to do so can result is loss of acceptance without recourse.
Correct me if I'm wrong; can we just email schools to withdraw our acceptances (similar to interviews) or is there a more involved process for withdrawing acceptances?

Most can be emailed, and I recommend doing so for written verification vs a phone call. Some also have the option on their portal.

You flatter me!!! 🙂

Everything other than PTE/CTE, which is selected using the CYMS tool on AMCAS, is school specific (e-mail, portal, etc.). As has already been mentioned, it is preferable for all communications regarding admissions, withdrawals, extensions, etc. to be in writing to avoid any problems in the future. If it were me, and if the school wanted everything to be done through its portal (or if I called), I'd also send a confirmation e-mail to the admissions office just to cover all bases.
