I was thinking:
If you have a job that offers 25 days of paid time off (including holidays), but it is part of the contract that you be on weekend call once in a month (2 days per month equals to 24 days in a year).
Then, it means that you have 1 day of REAL PTO per year.
Am I right?o_O

Non-elective in house weekend calls with no additional pay is somewhat uncommon in psychiatry. Typically this happens in two scenarios: 1) you work for a small private group that covers both inpatient/CL for the hospital as well as outpatient ==> this usually means all-in comp is VERY high, esp. at the partner level with profit share. 2) academia/large facility ==> no choice, you picked your own poison. If this is a garden variety inpatient or outpatient job, I'd favor negotiating the call out for more flexibility. There are better ways to make extra $ than in house coverage on weekends.
